I have an extra oem 2G intake manifold just sitting and I would eventually like to upgrade my intake manifold and throttle body but wondering if its worth porting the extra intake manifold I have and running a 1G throttle body?

Or is the oem intake manifold not worth porting and to just get an Evo 3 intake manifold? I have a JDM 7 bolt engine (yes imported from Japan)

I’m not sure what to do with these extra intake manifold so please let me know any inputs or recommendations. I would like 300hp minimum 400hp max before having to get into that deep rabbit hole of hp chase.. LOL

Up to you how you want.
If using a 1g throttle body would be the main purpose, then porting would be worth v.s. a non ported 2g intake manifold. But If you want to upgrade the intake manifold itself, then a early EVO intake manifold would be a good idea.
Personally I would just go with the early evo intake manifold with a 1g or early EVO throttle body over porting the 2g intake manifold for a 1g throttle body. But you would need some little extra work for relocating the coil packs if you don't have the coil bracket, also for the MDP sensor. And you can't keep the EGR.
Besides its performance, one thing what I always like with the early EVO intake manifold is, it would give you more room between the firewall and underneath the manifold than the stock.
