I have an SC61 with a turbonetics T3 manifold. Thing is, when the wastegate mounts right off the #1 runner it won't clear the hood on a 1g, so I will need to make an EWG adapter pipe to angle the EWG to clear the hood. I also have a 5 bolt turbine housing on my turbo like the picture below, so I will need a custom o2 housing (Unless someone here has a link to one that isn't an Ebay peice of junk, because I couldn't find one anywhere)

So, here are my options:

1. Custom o2 housing with custom WG adapter. ( EWG mounted on manifold)
* Is it bad to block off the wastegate opening on the turbine housing with a solid plate as the base for the O2 housing? This is one of my main concerns...

Pros: already have all the main parts, flanges included.
Cons: not much room, kind of a complicated setup, one extra WG gasket to leak.

2. Custom o2 housing with EWG off o2 housing similar to this (post #5), and get an FP Race with T3 adapter plate (already have one)

Pros: Simpler design, would take up less room due to not having an adapter pipe for the EWG.
Cons: Don't have an FP Manifold, one more T3 turbo gasket to leak.

Pretty sure I will be dumping the WG to atmosphere also.

Also, has anyone here used one of these turbine housings? I have looked at ATP's site and it looks like they don't sell them anymore. This could be a third option, to have the wastegate and dumptube mounted right on the turbine housing, would take up the least room, the only problem would be finding the correct casting to fit my turbine wheel/CHRA.

Pro: least piping, most room
Con:not even sure if ATP makes a turbine housing the right size

I feel like that gated housing would leave you with almost no room at all, much less putting a big gate on it if it doesnt hit the water pipe. Then trying to snake piping down between the downpipe, and powersteering. That seems like a bad idea.

I'd sell your manifold and use the proceeds to get one with a wg passage that comes off of the top right at the collector. MAP sells one by ERL that should do the trick. Then get an o2 housing that blocks the passage on the exhaust housing and accepts the outlet from the EWG.

I'd look into mounting on the o2 housing. I went off if the manifold and had clearance issues everywhere. Had to remove power steering pump, relocate the alternatorand tons of piping for the dump pipe.

Thats the problem though. ONE company makes a 5 bolt o2 housing that would bolt up up my turbo, and it's an Ebay company. I'm not using that junk.

Pretty sure I'm going to go with #2 if I can find a buyer for the turbonetics cast mani.

Why not try it instead of being ignorant about it, and for future references your not allowed to bump your threads up. Or better yet, sell it and buy a better manifold.
