Don't do it, you will end up frying your alternator and any other wiring you have in that area (assuming you are running it on that side of the motor). There are numerous flanges on eBay that you can pick up and bring to an exhaust shop to weld a 38mm pipe to for cheap.

There was a thread awhile back where someone tried that and ended up with a wiring nightmare that must have taken forever to fix.

Andy at 122performance is making me an O2 sensor housing for my ext. WG setup. His custom O2 sensor housing will fit my HKS 40mm ext. wg and reroute it back into the O2 sensor housing, you may want to check that out .

It'll be nice if SBR made an o2 housing to bolt on with their exhaust manifold for people using 38mm wastegates who want to route it back in the o2. Something like DNPs kit below:

Yes, as Matt stated, running an external wastegate with a dump tube is a bad idea. dumping a large amount of raw, hot exhaust gas underneath the hood is never a good idea.

Boost Demon (above) is having his o2 housing made from www.122performance.com to have it recirulate from his wastegate to the his o2 housing. The DNP kit is nice, but I wouldn't use it on a daily driver car since the tubulars tend to crack. It would be cool if 122 or SBR went in mass production for a recirulating o2 housing that went from SBRs new manifold with the 38mm gate to a 2G 2 1/2 downpipe.

EDIT: I sent a PM to SBR, I'm curious if they will make something like this.

Dumping is a bad idea it will only cause problems and get you too much attention that you dont want. THat manifold/WG/o2 is beautiful i want one. Is that really THAT bad of a price? Yeah theres a lot of cheap solutions out there but this includes the o2 housing/manifold/wastegate. Seems pretty reasonable for what you get.
