I just put 550cc injectors with the walbro 255 and a fuel pressure regulator set at 40 psi at base and my exhuast is very hot. I have had them in for about 2 weeks now and today i went to feel my exhaust and it was burning hot. I read its from running to lean. what could be my problem here?

Not sure on all the details, I'm sure you mean 550cc injectors first....and the exhaust is always hot, like extremly hot! Also i'm pretty sure the stock base idle is 43psi, if you have a pyrometer that would help to know if your exhaust is actually too hot or not. Do you notice and power decrease?

do you have any type of controller like a SAFC or an AFC or dsm link????

wait you "felt" your exhaust as in put your hand on it? If it didnt burn you then your doing great jeez, dont touch it after a long drive you will burn your fingerprints off... obviously as was said above, get a pyrometer and dont touch your exhaust. if you wanna know if you are running rich or lean without a gauge then look at your sparkplugs white=lean black = rich, a sooty cooler is just right. Google it if ya need a picture.

oh ya and don't touch it after you've been driving it, yes it will be very hot, haha

You wont know if its running lean until you have a WBO2 to read the exhaust flow.

If I went to touch the exhaust of my all stock 98 GS DD after running it hard, it would be hot as hell too ;)

What FPR do you have?

its never been this hot before at the tip i dont have any fuel controller right now so it should be running rich if im correct. i have noticed a big difference in temp since when i first put them in and now

if you have bigger injectors and bigger fuel pump you should have some type of a controller, if your not going to go any bigger then 550's an SAFC would work, have you noticed any power increase or loss?

i havent noticed a difference really but i havent been getting on it im buying a safc if i dont sell it soon i just dont have the money right now

if your selling it soon then i wouldn't worry about it, haha, but if you are keeping it an SAFC II and a egt gauge to tell you your exhaust temp would be good purchases when you do have the money
and yes checking the plugs will tell you if you are running rich or lean

i'd maybe try hooking up a logger and seeing if your knocking at all, you maybe running fine, and again i think the stock base fuel pressure is 43 psi, not 40psi, that may make a difference.
