Hi folks, I bough a used turbo-back thermal R&D exhaust system for my 1G and the muffler sits about 1-2 inches too low. I'm thinking it needs stiffer or shorter rubber exhaust hangers to help it sit higher. Does anyone have a brand of hanger or solution that would raise the muffler up an inch? Thanks.

I believe.. @2gmitsueclipse was the guy that I saw doing this, but he took a hose clamp around the hangers and tightened them up to close some distance if you have some loose/wobbly hangers. I was impressed with the concept but never used it myself. FWIW my exhaust hung a bit until a got a really stiff hanger for the very end mount on my 92.

I used to be plagued by exhaust issues during RallyCross events due to my ride height (Stock). My exhaust is composed of a modified heavily RRE downpipe and old-school Buschur Racing cat back. One of the biggest issues were fitment as the exhaust hung lower than I preferred for these types of events. One of the solutions were quite simple. Use hose clamps on the rubber exhaust isolators to fine tune the adjust of the exhaust system. I had seen this used to repair a ripped isolator during an event, and figured it would be a great way to gain some additional clearance. For those that are OCD like myself, this solution would be a great way to get your exhaust sitting right where you want it.

Did you just quote yourself? Haha, thanks that's a great idea.

I couldn't link the post from my mobile device, so I took the next most efficient way of explaining it. It is on PG. 3 of the 2g RallyCross build.
