Maybe you guys can help me, I did search around the forum but couldn't find the right answer...

Anyone know of the gains in horsepower with the Apex'i N1 and GReddy Evo2?

i got a 1997 GST

are you looking at a cat-back...or turbo-back system with a downpipe/high flow cat..etc...
gains are relatively the same for all cat-back systems (make sure it is a "turbo" setup).
you should see maybee 15hp from an exhaust reasonably...maybee 20-25 MAX with a DP and cat.
people have claimed that they have a 50+ hp exhaust...and thats well....to video game like. good luck man.

I can speak from experience....but not experience with either system.

Long ago, when I first got into DSM's, I bought a complete turbo back 2.5" mandrel bent system.

It arrived in pieces over a period of 3 months. I went to the track with each piece installed as I recieved it.

14.2 with new downpipe, stock cat, stock catback
13.8 with test pipe and new downpipe, stock catback
13.3 with full mandrel bent 2.5" catback, test pipe, downpipe.

The specific system isn't nearly as important as just getting a aftermarket exhaust.....period.

The factory exhaust systems on DSM's are POOR at best.

I personally like the N1 system best though, from what I have seen.

Forget the name brand stuff. Find a local exhuast shop that will custom-build one. Got mine done for $550 w/test pipe and muffler. It's 3" all the through, and for the bends, they used pre-fabbed mandrel bends like you can get through J.C Whitney. After the initial 90* bend in the downpipe it has one, yes one, bend in the entire thing. The guy I was talking to at the shop told me it was the straightest DSM exhaust they'd seen :rocks: .

Well I am looking at catback systems, and I see a lot of people have the N1, but I am really curious about the Evo2, would like to know the gains and see a pic if it is installed :D

there's no way of knowing, you might get ten,i might get one, theres too many variables, and all cars take different to different mods. You can expect an average gain of 5-10 hp with an exhaust.like forementioned, some will get less, some more.
