just got a new manifold for the talon and if i go by the book draining the oil...separating the exhaust from the turbo and basically taking off the turbo seems like a lil much just for switching it along with taking off the power steering pump...so far ive snapped all the bolts on the top of the manifold and have made it nowhere due to rusty old bolts. just wondering if there is an easier way before i tackle this thing again tomorrow

On most stock manifold bolts they due snap from age. There really isn't an easy way to go about it. If you have some ratchet wrenches those can speed up the manifold to head bolts a little bit. Use a torch to heat up the bolts and see if they break loose a little easier. But the bolt that is behind the power steering pump is a pain in the ass to get out so just pull the pump off and bracket will make things alot easier. Get yourself a tap and die set your going to need it for the turbo after you get it off due to the snapped bolts. If you don't have a torch you could try some wd-40 ect. but it not going to help to much.

dw40 the crap out of the bolts start the engine and let it heat up to running temp spray more wd40 on them let the engine cool down and spry more LOL but if you broke all the bolts off your going to need to pull the turbo off get the bolts out or at least i did on mine it just seem easier to me hope this helps. I was going say torch to daddybonez07 heating up the engine is the poor man way LOL

in addition to snapping the four top bolts on of the bolts on the head came out with the nut that holds the manifold on and when i looked at it closer some of the bolts...if they are even bolts...are missing

i drained the oil out today and in the process of doing that the oil return line for the turbo is leaking. i saw that the previous owner just took a rubber hose and clamped it down. one more thing on the to get list, also i saw that on the bottom of my oil pan there was coolant coming from somewhere looks like i have alot of work to do

Ya it is a common problem when people don't maintain there cars. The manifold to head bolts is def common and don't worry if the nut and bolt come out together your gonna want to buy new one's any ways. The feed line def. need's to be replaced if you need one I have some spare ones just pm me if interested. But yes since you are in there working away you mine as well go through everything and clean check wires, connectors, inspect all of your hoses, gaskets ect. Use some di-electric grease on the connectors to prevent corrosion. When you get everything patched up and clean it will be much easier to see if something is leaking because everything should be clean minus the area that is leaking.
