I was looking on ebay for 2g ported exhaust manifolds and was wondering if I needed to have the spacer when I upgrade the exhaust manfiold. I am sure that the spacer that I have with my current manifold wouldn't fit on the ported manifold I would be buying. I do not want to port mine or anything if I do not have to. I simply would like to buy a ported manifold and take mine off, put the new one on and then sell my old one to hopefully get some money back.

Also, how much time should i designate to do this once I do get the manifold? Is this hard to do?

Umm...by spacer do you mean gasket?

time wise, depends on how rusted your bolts are, because if they break off, well it just became time consuming.

yea the gasket, sorry on ebay they were calling it a spacer, but yea the gasket. Alright, so far most of the stuff on my car has had rust problems but how badly do these bolts break off? If i spray them with pb blaster will they come off then?

dont just spray them with pb blaster.. soak them in pb blaster.. do it a couple days before the job... and when your going to take out the manifold to turbo bolts, make sure the turbo is warm\hot, it helps to get the bolts out easier..:thumb:

thanks for the advice! Obviously you can probably tell I am new to this so I don't want to mess up so I will take all the advice I can get. I also had anothe question about what exhuast manifold to get. I am going to either get a ported 2g exhaust manifold or this dsm evo III exhaust manifold http://www.dsmparts.com/customer/product.php?productid=202 what do you recommend? Is the evo III going to flow just as well as a ported 2g exhaust manifold?

yeah, i'd just save the time and effort in finding a ported 2g and just buy an evo3. Just make sure you are prepared to drill and tap any broken bolts when you do the job.

I have the evo gt manifold on right now, i ordered it off dsmparts.com a couple months back it was $180 but now you can get them on turbochargers.com for like 130 bucks, awsome manifold.

Just grab a porting bit, and have some fun improving your porting skills.

To the guy above, do you have any clearance issues? Did the stock heat sheild fit over the GT manifold?
