Ok i know i have a boost or vacuum leak around the intake manifold or so it sounds. i am experiencing a random idle surge. i am awaiting my boost leak tester to arrive so i can solve that problem for sure. my next question i have this oil buildup by my exhaust manifold and sometimes it will burn off other times it just sits there. i also have a exhaust leak i can't find :,(

Anyway check out thsee videos and any help would be appreciated.

Video 1: oil burning/exhaust
Video 2: oil pooled but not burning/idle surge

valve cover gasket for the oil? and its easy to find a vaccuum leak. I do it by spraying carb cleaner at a suspected vaccuum port and if the engine revs up, you found your leak. A boost leak is a different animal. The boost leak will not effect your idle {in theory) never has for me. Just be carfull if you go spraying carb cleaner to not spray it on exhaust. IT IS FLAMMABLE! Only spray on vaccuum ports.

Why the hell would you make it a private video, on a question that you asked this site?

About the 10th damn time this has happened to me on this forum. If you want us to help, let us help. People like to recursively make their videos private because their lives are THAT exclusive.

It does not have a valve cover gasket on it atm i will be putting that on tomorrow. however it is not leaking atm. instead of car cleaner would soap and water work/or just water? or does it have to be a flammable substance? Lol

No valve cover gasket? Why?

It might not leak at idle but it'll definitely leak under boost, which is more then likely the cause of the oil

It didn't have one when i bought it. im actually changing that right now LOL. i at first thought it was the reason for the burning oil but it dosent burn spew out. maybe after the car has sat overnight it leaks out?

Do you check it after you've driven it? I would guess it's leaking out under boost

Finish the valve cover gasket, see if that fixes it

yea man, valve cover gasket. And you engine has a NASTY knocking sound. Need to figure that out.

actually it sounds more like an exhaust leak. there is no oil coming from the manifold. It's more than likely blowing out the valve cover.

Valve cover gasket gets my vote. I have a corner that likes to slowly leak on mine. After a 30psi pull i get a whiff of burnt oil. Just been too god damned lazy to fix it.

You can fix that surge no problem. Just find the leak or check your ISC yada yada yada, its been covered a million and one times.

Dude you have to be blowing through oil... LOL +1 for the valve cover gasket... Might as well get a fel-pro head set with all of the gaskets... :hellyeah:
