Seattle,
Washington
I order a second gen exhaust manifold from a Mitsubishi gunk yard in California, seems like a great place. I live in Seattle Washington, so its a little ways from my normal junk yard dealings. I could get the name if someone needs it, they specialize in DSM and had a good selection. I think I payed $100 shipped for the manifold.
I get the thing in the mail and every thing looks great, but there was a bolt broken off in the upper left heat shield mount. No big deal, its not even critical to holding the shield on. So I left it.
Now its been a year, this will have been the second time I had the exhaust manifold off for a number of reasons. Each time I've remove the manifold, I've tried to remove the damn bolt.
The first time all I ended up doing was putting a hole through the middle of it. I had the wrong type of extractor.
This time I bot the right ones. Craftsman, Drill-out Power Extractor. The things were not cheap, let me tell you.
So, to make a short story shorter. Here are the pic's...

For my next attempt, I will drill it the rest of the way and try to tap it. Any suggestions?
