when i look under my car on the drivers side right before the rear tire at my exhaust, i can see my heat shield cracked and when i idle or rev up when i beat on it, it rattles so bad. can i take it off or do i need to replace it?

i would go ahead and replace it, it protects the heat from getting to your gas tank, and other parts. i don't think you want a fire.LOL

You can just take it off, your car would be perfectly safe without it. Many of the people on this site run with no heat shielding at all on their exhaust.

really?

even with the pipe being that close to the body and all?

if it wont mess up anything on my car ill take it off, because nothing is more anoying then a rattling heat shield LOL.

who else on here runs without a heat shield??????

on a 420a 2g?
