Exhaust Leak

Ok, so I have a 95 Talon TSi that I bought a few weeks ago. I had a CEL for the rear O2 sensor and replaced it and the code went away. I still had some stumbling and a little noise under the hood after the change so I thought maybe I had a leak near the turbo and I was right. Also my gas mileage sucks. I put just a cap full of sea foam in the vacuum line and after I started it back up, I could see smoke coming up from underneath the manifold. I haven't tore into it and plan on starting today, but there was a little smoke coming from near the turbo. I'm not sure where it is yet because of the location the smoke was coming from. Since I'm going to take the manifold off along with whatever else I figured I'd replace any exhaust gaskets since that may be where it's coming from. I know I need the manifold gasket but I'm not sure what other ones I may need (downpipe gasket, turbo gasket?). Can anyone give me a list? Im sure they are the original ones. The only one I know has been changed is the exhaust manifold gasket since it has a new manifold on it. I'll still change it again. Thanks for any help.

Check with the supporting vendors. JNZ, ExtremePSI, MAPerformance, Punishment Racing, Bonehead Performance, Forced Performance, etc.

See which ones have better deals and would be cheaper to get to your door.

I will say that you WANT the MLS turbo to manifold gasket. Do not get the solid gasket as they are prone to cracking and warping. I think FP is the only carrier for that gasket however, I could be wrong.

I would check these out guys out as they have a proven racing reputation and only sell very well designed, high quality parts. I've got the mani-gasket and even with a stripped stud on the head it doesnt leak at all. Really pleased with it. This link will take you directly to their gasket page.

I just replaced all mine. I got a kit from autozone. Came with turbo to manifold. O2 housing intake gasket and oil return line gaskets good kit for $24.

I've looked at the FFWD Site and like the gaskets. They have a nice kit too, but was not sure it would work on mine since its all stock. I was looking at the power pak 3. Would that work on a stock housing?

Yup that will all work. When you match up the o2 housing gasket, make sure the gasket doesn't overhang on either side. You'll want to trim if it does.

Just so you know, those gaskets are a 1 time seal, I'm sure others have gotten away with re using them.

I've reused mine twice so far without issues (when I had repair the broken stud). the bump outs are definitely flatter after one install but are still visible and it still seals fine. I'm going to reuse it as many times as possible just to see where the limit is.
