exhaust leak

I've found an exhaust leak where my header hooks into........what I call the down pipe but everyone says n/t don't have downpipes, so i dunno what you call it. ANyway, anyone have a suggestion to step in. think if i put some ceramic tape or something on the header before i slip the downpipe over top of it and fasten it down it'll make a sort of gasket and seal it up? Dunno if anyone can even understand that.

If it is made to come apart there is probably a mitsu gasket you can buy to seal it properly.

I'm not exactly sure where on the header you are talking about, but i know they have a product that you can put over an exhaust leak. It hardens and stops the leak after you warm it up. I do not know if this would work, since i dont know where for sure you are talking about on the car. Just a thought

It is a down pipe. And it does seperate from the ex.man. The only physical diff. between the turbo and non, is that the non has a two in-to one pipe that then curves down and into the flex. The flange is a 3 bolt style instead of just 2, and you can buy the gasket at almost any parts store. But there is a possibility that it is either the ex. manifold cracked, or the flex is blown out. Check them all over good.

I have a pacesetter header. It's a 4 into 1 header and the downpipe slips over like a sleeve and there's a bolt on the side that you tighten down to draw the 2 peices tight to each other, and around the seal whre the header meets the downpipe is where i'm getting a small leak. Where can I buy that exhaust leak product. just an autoparts store?
