WARNING: I am a newb
Recently I spotted a 95 GSX about 10 min from my house. Took a look at it, exterior is in good condition (no dents and very few barely visible blemishes). Met with the owner for a closer look and learned that there was an exhaust leak. He said that it was the gasket between the intake manifold (or did he mean exhaust manifold?) Test drove it and at around 3k RPM's it started buzzing (assuming from the leak). He recently put on a 1g turbo, 1g BOV and a new boost controller. The manifold (ex or int?) was ported but when he claims that you should torque the bolts twice - once when it's installed initially and again after it is drivin for a little. He's asking $5,000, I have about $6,000. He also claims that the stock 2g BOV cracked and caused the turbo to blow. I'm not a real wise DSMer but I do know a few things. The gasket didn't look hard to get to or install. What's some of you're advice? P.S. There is some info I forgot to mention so if you have any questions please feel free to ask.
