sorry guys this has prolly already been asnwered some time or another. but i got my 3 inch rnr turbo back today. and i have never done much with cars so i was wondering do i need to weld the pieces together or do i just slip them together and clamp them up. I would assume you weld them and if so what type of welder do i need. My thoughts would be a mig welder would be the best for the thin metal ?

Slip-fit and clamp, if you going to weld I suggest welding flanges on don't just weld the pipes together.

They are designed to fit that way. The only thing on my slipfit system that has rusted in the 2 years I have had it are the clamps that came with it. I have take it apart several times and all looks good.

Those 3" clamps are about $5 at a local Pep Boys, so that is not bad. I have only had to replace 1 so I would say it is good. Just make sure you tighten them down pretty good. Give it all ya got with a socket if ya can. I made a mistake and didn't tighten the one down enough and the backpressure caused it to blow itself out over time.

You will be fine with slip fitting it.

sorry to hijack the thread but how hard is it to remove the bolts from the o2 housing? are they really tight? should i spray some WD40 like the day before?

Thanks

The night before hit them with some type of liquid wrench to let them loosen up. Do it again before you pull them out. That shoudl do it. I went a bit further and let the car warm up a bit and the bolt came out with hand tools in a few seconds no problem.

Get yourself a nice peice of metal tubing to slip over your wrench and give it a nice torque'n.;)
