exhaust install

just got exhaust and i wnted to know what the wire mesh thingy magiggy is. Its right by the O2 sensor.

thats just an exhaust strap...incase your exhaust falls off/down

Ill give you an E for effort, but no, that is actually a ground strap. There has been a long debate about it and if you need it or not. I havent had it on any of my cars and havent noticed anything adverse effects. I, persoanlly, would hook it up if you can, and if not just toss it.

Yes, the stock exhasut will have a threaded hole for it becasue it is OEM. Some after market exhasuts also have holes but most dont.

k guys i am going do my install tomorrow, cat-back with test pipe any help / tips would be cool. I have been spraying the exhaust flanges with PB the past 2 days ! They look bad so hopfully this will help me. Thanks for any advise guys.

just one quick question, (im in prossess of doing it now) am i going to use the OEM heatsheild ? doesnt look like it will fit. Well that might get answered after idrop the stocker, on break right now,need some DEW BABY ,

Which exhaust are you installing on your car?

I thought you were installing a catback... ...

The headshields fit fine (upper one) but I dunno about the lower one because it didn't seem like it would fit so I just didn't reinstall it.

oh sorry its a catback but i am putting on testpipe also. Its a apexi RS 3". Im on break #2. I got all the bolts losse, the muffler is supported for when it drops, all i need now is to get the fricken cat off. Its been soaked in PB for 2 days and i just sprayed it again. Any tips to get this off, ? i know their a biotch

one last thing guys, theres no where to mount the muffler top bolt

Its not like a hook so i am guessing it doesnt use the gromit and even if it did it wouldnt fit.check pic
