exaust cut out??

I was curious on how to setup my own cutout. I was thinking of using my 3 inch downpipe and connecting the cutout there. Then Connect the 3 inch high flow cat .Now i wasnt sure on using a 3 inch catback or not because i want to use stock muffler for the sleeper look.( yes i know it doesnt flow so well.) I want to get the most out of my exhaust with a cat and the stock muffler, and when i want to race then open the electric cutout. Please give me your thoughts and ideas. Thanks.

You wouldn't want/be able to attach anything on the cutout after the flapper. If you want the exhaust to flow through the hi-flow cat, attach the cutout after that.

I dont understand the point of the cutout. You are putting it b4 the O2 sensor so you are letting all the exhaust out and it wont be able to get a reading so it will prolly run like shit at higher RPM's wont it?

Before the O2 sensor? Where's yours at?
You put it at the end of the downpipe, and the purpose is HORSEPOWER.

O2 sensor is like 2 feet behind the cat, so it wont get a reading and the car sputters like a bi*** at around 5K RPMS, i supose you could relocate the sensor to RIGHT behind the car and put it there but then you arent taking you cat outta the system so...

95bLaCkGsTuRbO, The rear o2 sensor has nothing to do with how the car runs. The ecu does not even take it into consideration. The rear o2 sensor's main job is to tell if your cat is working properly. A lot of aftermarket catbacks don't come with a rear o2 bung. Most of the time you can just bag up the o2 sensor and zip tie it out of the way and it will not throw a cel. So it doesn't matter if the air is dumped before, as long as the front o2 is still seeing the exhaust gases.

We are actually in the process of building downpipes with the cutouts built in, they will be ready to go next week. Email me at [email protected] with any questions. :thumb:

4year warranty. It's the same as any other cutout, but with a badass warranty. THE best IMO.

I have to agree with this guy on DMH PERFOMANCE. I bought one and it works well :thumb:

And the warranty is badass :talon:

I just watched the quicktime performance cut-out video, and that shit takes forever to open(5 seconds :( ), not that it would matter to some of yall, but the DMH PERFORMANCE open's in less than 2 second's. I will post a video of mine this to show.

Hey guys how loud is the cutout really ? I mean can i ride on highway with it open ?

It's really loud man. On the highway, you probably won't hear your music if your car is gutted.

Proably wouldn't want to drive around the city with it open because it sounds like shit, but when you full boost it, that can be an intimidating sound.

a cut out will give you more gain than any full exaust, you sacrifice a little low end torque but when you hit boost the car screams and you definetly wont be regretful you got one, i just ordered my "qtec" from quicktime on friday, when i get it i will post details :thumb:

Cutouts are stupid. Do you want to flip a switch every single time you feel like making real power? I sure as hell don't.

I have a full 3" exhaust that is quieter than every regular 2.5" on this site, and yet it flows a whole heck of a lot more. I make the most power every time I get on the throttle, without attracting attention.

I like how you guys are getting these to keep your cars "stealthy." You do realize that a car with an open exhaust will be heard at least a mile away when you go full throttle, right? Yeah, that's pretty covert.

Someone's a little lazy.. Cuz it's so hard to flick your finger.

I think the stealth idea has to do with visuals specifically. Someone sees you have stock exhaust, revvs on you at a light, you flip the switch, and bam; the power is unleashed.

To all their own... you don't need to like it, but don't knock it. I personally think it's a great alternative.

hitting a switch is pretty easy. Do you complain when it rains and you need to hit the wipers :p The whole point is that your car is loud, with the benefits of a big exhaust, when you WANT it. If you are going to the grocery store you can leave it closed and no one will know and you can enjoy the nice quiet ride. WHens ome ricer pulls up to you, flick the switch and make him crap his pants :thumb:

Does it rain 10-15 different times on my drive to work? No. Do I go into boost and want power than many times? Yes.

Matter of preference there.
I personally would prefer spending $120 over $1120 for better flow. With that extra $1000 one could afford to actually buy gas for the car. :D

These might sound good on v8's but how does it sound at the track or down a street race?

This seems like it would loose a lot of low end power..

Anyone gut a stock tsi muffler and run straight pipes through it?
