HI
The info above is what I am asking about, have a friend that has this turbo and offered it
to me, he also has a tdo4hl-15t-7.
I tried search function and it kept coming back, no results found, I think I have read here about this unit but no info, everything I find on google refers me to evolutionnet.
My question is, if this unit is usable in a dsm, he has sold the car and has these two units, the tdo4 is what came stock on his Lancer, for his lack of knowledge he went to the dealer and ask for an evo turbo, his cost was about $1,000.00, he used the tdo4 about 3 months and replaced it, but he wanted more and bought a bigger unit which is the one he sold the car with.
From my search this turbo will work on a dsm as I think it has same rotation.
Also is thread, Question for Justin still active I could not find it.

Thanks
Mandy

Thanks
Just about any turbo change will involve some kind of work, but I was thinking more in the line of performance as work, vs similar size turbos, where does fall in the 16g line.

The TD04HL-15T-7 is the Ralliart turbo. It is TINY.
The TD05H-152G6-12T is the EvoX turbo.

The EvoX turbine housing will not mate up nicely. It's been done a few times, but it's a considerable project to make twin scroll work on DSMs, and expensive if you don't have a stock EvoX manifold, o2 housing, etc. You would only choose the EvoX turbo if you have a specific goal for the car (i.e. you want twin scroll response and know how to splice manifolds together), and not because it was cheap. The EvoX turbo won't give a peak power edge, since the compressor doesn't flow much more than the Evo III 16G compressor.

Basically, don't do it.

Thanks for your response.
Yes the tdo4 is tiny, I was really surprise it was so.
Maybe the best deal would be to sell it to the evo guys. Both of them.
They are both in very good shape, like new, no play at all, he has manifold and housing for both.
Thanks guys
Mandy

OEM Evo X turbo. Nice unit, but doesn't fit a DSM unless you have a manifold that adapts the inlet flange of the the X turbo to a 4G63 head flange and places the turbo in the correct location at which point you'll likely want more compressor as well.

The compressor is 47/68mm so it's the inducer of a Small 16G with the exducer of a Big 16G. You can use the 152G6 compressor behind a 14B cover if you get it machined to fit...I currently have one on my daily driver as I have a surplus of these wheels from X turbos I've upgraded over the years; but in stock form an Evo X turbo has no real value to a DSMer.

Thanks for your response.
It is a shame because They are like brand new, I have 2 small 16g so it would not be worth it for me to fool with them.
Can you give me an idea what they are worth?
Thanks again
Mandy

Whatever someone is willing to pay...I was paying $200ish for 152G6 cores with crack-free turbine housings for a while but I have like a dozen or more so I definitely don't need more. I'd say $200-$250 if you're just looking to get rid of it or $300-$350 if you can afford to sit on it a while until it moves. The 15T core has zero value.
