EVO3 turbo direct fit?

Is an EVO3 16g a direct fit for a stock 1g turbo car?
I have looked around some ppl say it is.
Then some ppl say you have to adjust the angle on the down pipe.
Which ones correct?

I have heard of people having to adjust the downpipe after putting on an evo3 o2 housing. Of course everyone's setup/situation is different, but it will bolt on like a 14b will, there just might be a slight difference in how the exhaust bolts up. I know people have made it work plenty of times though.
 
The Evo 3 turbo is a direct fit for a 1g car. It is when you use the Evo 3 o2 housing that you have to change the angle of the downpipe. The downpipe flange is at a slightly different angle than a 1g or 2g 02 housing.

since i have an a/t the turbo is smaller (13G) will it still be a direct fit?
 
Nope you'll need Oil Feed lines, and coolant lines I believe. Can get them off of a 14b at a junkyard.
Also you'll want some larger injectors(stock auto 390, stock evo 510), and a way to control it.

The Punishment Racing O2 housing won't require any funny angling. Last time I installed one, the downpipe hooked right up.

how do you mean "control it"?
 
He's referring to a type of tuning device to compensate for the larger injectors. Stock injectors for a turbo automatic (390 cc/min) are way too small to fully take advantage of the bigger turbo you're about to throw on there. However, if you install larger injectors without telling the ECU (or without fooling it by altering the airflow signal), you will do more harm than good.
 
so should buy a new ecu? I also plan on upgrading the whole exhaust system(which has a question of its own), as well as many other upgrades.(intake system,fuel pump,intercooler,etc...)
 
You may not need a new ECU. Check to see if your ECU is an EPROM first.
From there, assuming yours is, you have 3 decent options.
1, You can get a keydriver chip, for about 100$ that has fuel maps for the larger injectors
2, You can get a dsmlink, which is 500$, but is a professional tunning chip/software that will allow to do more to your car then you can imagine.
3,Or you can go with a SAFC. 250$ and it just lies to your ECU by adjusting the air amount. It works alright, but half the price of dsmlink, i would suggest saving up a little more first for that.
I would suggest full supporting mods before you drop an EVO 16g in there.
