So I bought the rebuilt kit everyone here recommends; rebuilt the turbo, and after putting it together, I noticed if I spin it, it stops right after my hand comes off of it. Could it be because I used red permatex assembly lube which is kind of sticky?
I also checked to see if the tightness of the nut that holds the turbine wheel makes any difference in the spinning, but it doesn't.
I don't remember what it was like before the rebuild as far as spinning it by hand.
I took it apart just to make sure it was put together right, and it is I believe.
I had it balanced as well.
Just curious if anyone else has noticed this is it normal or not? The 14b in my car spins pretty easy by hand compared to this one; the 14b keeps spinning for a second after you spin it.
