ok, i was given a free set of wiseco pistons from a evo, and i have 6bolt eagle rods, can i them machined to fit the evo piston wrist pin? i suppose it can be done since this can be done with stock evo pistons and stock 6bolt rods, i just want to make sure

also whne i install them do i have to turn the piston since the valve relif is on the opposite side?

Huh? You mean the 6bolt eagle rod, had to be machined to accept the evo wiseco piston right? Since aftermarket pistons are full floating right?

Cool

The Evo pistons are 22mm pin, and the rods are 21mm pin, thats why you have to machine the rods but since the Evo pistons are floating pins I would recommended for you to machine the rods just enough where the pin can slide as it was a floating rod. I did this a Long time ago but is not good for DD, you can machine the rods and bushed the rod but this will be expensive.

You can't make the whole bigger, as it will compromise the strength and or integrity of the of the Eagle rod. Stock 1g rods have a lot more space to work with then the Eagle rod. On my built block, I have evo pistons in my built 1g motor. I did that, because the wrist pin was bigger and I thought it'd hold up better for more power. The solution is simple.

so would it be better to use stock rods with the evo wiseco pistons? ...i just want to do a fresh rebuild on my car since it has a alot of miles, there is nothing wrong with it, but im still gonna do it..so since the pistons were given to me im gonna use those...so would it be better to use eagle rods machined to fit the wrist pin or stock rods machined?

Well I mean i have to rebuild it cause the car has a wired knocking noise that comes and goes and one cyl has low compression..... So I was gonna rebuild it with stock evo pistons but my friend gave me forge cp pistons...i tought they were wiseco but he brought them to me today and they are cp...so I already have the complete gasket set, water pump, oil pump, arp head studs and everything,

All u need to decide is if I should machine eagle rods or stock rods to fit the evo cp pistons

I'm not looking for more then 400whp

I am kinda doing the same(using evo x pistons tho) let me tell you that I asked MAP if i could order a set of eagle's already machined to accept the evo x pistons for a 7 bolt late 99 block and they said that it's not recommened to machine these(forged) rods. I ended up using stock 6 bolt rods machined to 22mm this way the wrist pin would be a full floater and accept the evo x pistons. Ill report later this year how things are with my build becuase Im at a dead stand still on it (christmas) Good luck with your rebuild.=)

Bad ass info ill just either get mine machined or get some from dsmgrave yard

I"d use the stock 6 bolt rod and machine it, less of a headache and its been proven many times.. User"s on this forum are pushing 500 plus on a stock rod and are fine.. If you want you can change out the rod bolts to arp but im sure the stock 14mm rod bolts will be good..

I will get arp rod bolt, where can I buy arp rod bolt for stock rods?
