2g wiseco pistons on 1g eagle rods

can i use 1 gen EAGLE rods #CRS5900MA3D on 2nd gen WISECO pistons #k548M86 with out any problems?

More than likely, the rods would need to be machined at the top end to make then fit the wrist pins on the pistons.

Yes they will be weaker, but probably not enough to cause any trouble. If you plan on pushing the rods to the limit, then it might not be a good idea.

It's common sense. If you remove material it's going to get weaker. People have been modifiying 1g rods to fit 2g pistons since the mid 90's.

You could have a machine shop remove the bushings and then bore them, and then relpace the busshings with the proper size bushings. Although the correct way to do it, it is the wrong thing to do. Just sell the pistons and get the 8.5:1 compression pistons for the 1g rods. All and all it will cost more money to make the rods fit than to buy the proper pistons.
