i have an 03 Evolution VIII, and just bought a 91 talon tsi awd, i was wondering if the turbo off my evo would bolt up to my 1g? and maybe my intercooler? thanks for the help!

Turbo, no (not without a lot of work), intercooler yes. If you do a search, you'll find some threads about both.

The Evo VIII intercooler is not worth installing. You would basically be getting just the core... and honestly... your better off getting a full kit (i.e. SBR). I would sell the core on ebay or something and take the money for a better kit.

It "can" be done, but it's up to you if it's worth it. There's a ton of fabrication and you'll have to relocate the accesories (alt/ps). Although the link above is for a BMW (and RWD), there are a few guys who managed to install the manifold/turbo in a 1G. Made around 350whp or so.

You can either do that, or get a bolt on 50trim or other larger turbo and make the same whp while keeping everything in the stock location.

I want to ask, what makes it so hard? It looks like the main problem is the turbine housing. Are the old mitsu tdo5H turbine housings interchangeable with the newer tdo5? Or am i missing something here?

The fact that the turbo is backwards compared to ours, the fact that you have to fab an adapter for the divided turbine housing, the fact that you have to fab up exhaust piping.

Geeze, did you even read my post? If the turbine housings of the old tdo5 turbos like the evo III 16g are interchangeable (which i dont know if they are or not) then isnt that what really determines the orientation of the turbocharger? All the mounting points are on the turbine housing, which means if you had an old 16g turbine housing on a new evo 8 t urbo then it would bolt up like OUR turbine housings do. Im not knowledgeable about the new evo 8 turbos, I just want to know why this idea wont work, im not trying to argue that it wont, its just out of curiosity.

Okay, i researched some and compared parts and im going to answer my own question.

It wont work becasue the turbine blades go the opposite direction from our 16g turbos even if the turbine housing from an old tdo5 would fit.

The EVO3 turbo flows the same 42-43 lbs the EVO8 turbo flows. I've run both. The EVO8 spools up slightly better, but honestly, how much faster do you need a turbo to spool? The EVO3 16g isn't xactly laggy. ;) Therefore my conclusion is that the EVO8 turbo is not worth the effort when an EVO3 will bolt right on and offer comparable HP potential.
