Evo III block and Gen I head

I have a Evo III head and block the valves got bent . My buddy has a 94 head and block but its in a gen 2 body . I was thinking about buying it for parts . So the question is with the parts from the 94 work on the Evo motor ? I was lookin at the heads and the cam sensor are on different ends . The Evo sensor is on the side with cam gears , the 94 sensor is on the other end of the cam . Does this matter? the plugs look the same .

You will need a 91 to early 92 head to bolt up to your evo III block with no problems. You can use a 90 head but you will need to swap out the sensors. If you use a late 92 through 94 1G the head bolts are smaller so the right way to use this head would be to open the holes up in the head to fit the larger head bolts/studs. If you get a used head that your not positive of its condition have it checked at a local machine shop.

^^^The evoIII motor is based on the 2G 7 bolt with 11mm head bolts and smaller intake ports. How badly is the head damaged? If its bad then it might need new pistons aswell. I would just build the 94 block up and leave the evo motor alone. If its a true evo motor you could use the cams, injectors, and turbo.
