evo brakes clarification

my guess is that after its all said and done, installing evo breaks on a 1g would be more expensive than just buying a kit designed for the 1g like stoptech or whatever. I was hoping for a cheaper alternative, but whatever.

I just get PM from dsmtuners member. He wrote"I just talked to someone on EvoM and he told me that the Evo 8 Brembo's fit on the US Galants 8th gen (99-03) and 9th gen 04-07)." I am glad to hear that. Thanks

Argh, almost won some like 5 times in a row. somebody keeps outbidding me in the last second....I am not spending 900 bucks to make sure I Get these calipers when you can get em for 5-600..

How much shipped to 22182 Vienna VA, USA?

Let me know the prices, I just picked up a front set of brembo rotors, pads, calipers. Also Martin, if you find any rear calipers let me know, or anyone else, ill buy it off of someone. I know most people dont agree with the rears also, but I would like them in the rear too. So if someone knows any without the front, let me know.

Sorry for having 3 posts in a row, but id like to get this to be a good cheap upgrade for dsms. Any vendors confirm that the 99 galant knuckles are the exact same as the 00-05 eclipse knuckles? I think it may be easier to find and maybe cheaper to find eclipse front knuckles than 99-04 galant knuckles.

Vendor-forum rules prevent Todd, and other vendors, from quoting prices and making offers in the tech forums. PM him if you want quotes.

Why don't you volunteer to make some calls and confirm the parts? Here's what mitsubishiparts.com shows for parts drawings:

^ that pretty much proves my point.

i read in another thread that outlander knuckles will bolt up. anyone have a printout of the outlander front suspension?

Just found out that only the JDM galant knuckles will bolt up to the 2g and the evo calipers. The usdm knuckles will bolt to the caliper but not to the 2g...

I was pretty sure it's the Galant VR4 knuckles only and this confirms it.

FWIW: You could have a bracket custom manufactured that would fit EVO brembos for about 100-150 bucks roughly and fit your stock hubs, which would be honestly a LOT EASIER than dicking with JDM parts (unless you know Japanese yards/can get Japanese Mitsubishi parts). Nevermind seperating the axle from the wheel bearing.

Here's a startup group designing and offering brackets: DSM Brakes.

Has anyone bought the knuckles from mitsumissle? if you have how have they worked out for you?

Does anyone know if there is someone producing these adaptors yet? I've searched the forums, online, etc. and have come up with nothing. I can get the JDM version knuckles through the local Mitsubishi dealer, but they are $350.00/each!!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

What exactly are you adapting to what?

he said that the usdm knuckle wont' fit on the 2g but will it fit on a 1g? sorry for posting on an old thread

i would also like to know this, I think i read that they would work you would just have to make custom brackets for the calipers, but not positive, so anybody that knows this question should chime in

I know this is a very late response and it is an Evo caliper thread, but for 1g guys why not just use the 3kgt VR4 brakes? So long as your wheels have clearance (Evo 8 wheels for example) it is a fairly straight forward conversion. There is a huge thread on it here.

Oh, and they can be had for $100-$200 a set.

Finally won a set + rotors for 540.00 after taking your advice. :sneaky:

Congradulations, you get those knuckles yet?

Oh and yes I know that information, I thought I had posted it in this thread, mayeb another, theres tons of threads about this. MitsuMissile on this forum can hook you up if your looking for the right knuckles and abs sensors.
