had the guy custom make me that flange between the manifold and turbo that rotates its 180degrees and he kept the twin scrol, too it pulls pretty hard alot at the top end, pulling 18lbs for now until i break it in alil

it wont fit if you dont rotate your turbo 180degrees but once you do, like with me had that flange i had made i had to grind very lil of the alternator. the power screw to the alternator was to close to the turbo and i wrapped sum heat wrap around it just in case

the way it "sits" in the engine bay, looks rather ugly/ hack job. but that might just be the only way it fits huh? either way, A+ for effort! keep us updated on how it all turns out for you. and hope in the end it was a cheaper route, than just going evo3 16g. that leading to my next question, how much did the "custom" flange cost you? and how much do you have in the swap/install all together?

everything is match up perfectly, i bought the turbo and manifold for $100, flange was $120, two gaskets were $40, turbo lines were $40, b/c the flange made the turbo stick out alittle more then i wanted too so i had to buy a honda radiator from a junk yard $30. so around $350-$400 for the whole set-up.

I don't have to much knowledge on the evo platform's seeing as they weren't available in Canada till recently. We can import them from the U.S. now and evo x is available at the dealerships.

If this set-up ends up working out well for you will you consider going to the evo 9 turbo eventually - it should bolt on the same with your adapter would it not?

the radiator is holdind up pretty good so far havent took it for a long drive yet, but i plan on doing it today. an evo9 turbo would have been the have to go but there still alil bit pricey and after i make sure there no problem am probably going to sell it b/c i found another car i want and im selling my ws6

Any pix of the custom flange? I assume you're using the Evo O2 housing. I'm also assuming a custom downpipe. Injector size? Will you be shielding the alternator too? Would like to see more intimate details of the entire setup/plans.

Lol it is a small radiator i got i pretty strong 12"thin fan helps coolest it down and i went with a vr4 oil filter its a little bigger thought would help with the cooling and an oil cooler i had laying around. The only picture i got of the flange is the one the guys sent me before he cnc'd it ill post it later its on my laptop, im still runni stock injectors but have a 255fuel pump. Yes i had to make a custom down pipe did not line up at all. The major or only difference between an evo3 turbo and evo8 turbo is the 8 is twin scroll correct me if im wrong,...

oh ok so not a bad flowing turbo for the price, what is the spool up time on either of those turbos, is it like the evo 3?

The big difference would be as the op mentioned above in it being twinscroll. Yes it's not a bad turbo for the price, but that's because without modification, it can't be used on much other then an Evo.

It has the same compressor a/r as the evo3 16g and the same wheel specs and fin shape as the the evo3 16g compressor wheel. Except it is reverse scroll. As well the evo3 16g turbine wheel which is the same as the 14b turbine wheel has the same specs as this turbine wheel except for it being reverse scroll. The advantage is having an evo3 16g with twinscroll technology.
