Hi all i am new to this forum and need help. i have a 1995 2g fwd turbo talon all stock besides fmic, and 3' downpipe all the way back, 255 walboro, and hks bov, and safc

now heres the question: i just put in evo 560s injectors, 255 walboro, and 2g maf is already there. does the car suppose to even itself out or am i running pig rich? do i have to tune it with the safc? right now my car runs and feels not as strong as it did with the 450s. by the way i am running 14b turbo any help is appreciated

okay so i had 450s in and the car run good, pulled hard and now i put in the 560s and the car run/startup fine but when i boost i don't have power. it feels like the car boosts up and loses power/boost help me please

Set the values in the SAFC to -10% on the high throttle end to somewhat compensate for the bigger injectors, you'll still be running rich but it should help, I can't give you exact values since most injectors tend to flow differently. But I DO NOT recommend messing around with it anymore without at least a Wideband, I recommend you pick up an AEM UEGO, they can be found brand new even on Ebay for $165. Once you get a Wideband tune for a 10.5:1 to a 11:1 A/F ratio.

That is strange, because I am running a 2gMAF, RC-550's, Walbro 255, AFPR, e316g, FMIC, hard intake, 22lbs boost. This thing pulls all the way, and is not running pig rich at all. I suppose the 560's could cause an issue, but the 550's with a 2gMAF in a 1G works awesome.

Do you have anything to tune with?

He needs a wideband and a way to tune his car, a datalogger, dsmlink something so he can see whats going on in his car.

He has an SAFC, I gave him some small corrections to make on it but he really does need at least a Wideband.

i went to check the site with the tuning from roadrace engineering. i follow the instructions for the 550s but it didn't help. i am going to put my stock 450s in and see if it makes a difference or does my problem still exist. if it does then i think something is wrong in the fuel pressure or ignition

okay i was just curious.... with a set up like 255 walboro and 2g maf with 550s or 560s does everything just even it self out on stock psi? or do i have to tune the boost up to 15 so it evens out? i know the safc is for fine tuning. my other car i belive i run the same setup but my safc is all zeroed out. i am stump... can it be my fuel pump going bad?

with out a safc or link:confused:
i had the same set up and my safc was set for between -14 and -17

It's not your fuel pump. It's your INJECTORS. You NEED a tuning device. Nothing will just "even" itself out even using an evo MAF. It will be "better" with an evo MAF, but will not fix it. Put the stock 450's in, leave the boost stock, then purchase a wideband and a real tuning software, since an SAFC is primative and not good for fine tuning.

No sir. Not all 2G MAFs meter the same, not all 550cc injectors flow the same. Just "doing the math" on airflow vs fuel is a dangerous game. Even riskier with no logging capabilities.

No, turning the boost up is not the answer. The SAFC is capable of tuning the combo, but it would come very highly recommended to not install larger injectors and tune without a wideband and a way to monitor knock. Tune blindly at your peril.

Above being said, I am running the AFPR at stock fuel pressure level. I only have the afpr because the wally 255 will over-run the stock 1g FPR. Not to mention I got a real good deal on it!!

If you are running the 560cc in a 2g with no SAFC then it will run %15 more rich.

If you have a 1g with a small MAF and you install 560cc injectors and a 2g MAF then the MAF and injectors are both larger so it evens out. You can not expect the same thing from a 2g as you are not making the MAF any bigger. You are just adding more fuel and not reading less airflow so it is not going to work.

wow i understand now... duh.... i always have a 1g so the upgrade was 2g maf and 550 and it pretty much evens out. that being said i was trying to install these 560s in a 2g!

hi all a little update. so i took the 560s out and put in the 450s and runs perfect! dang i bought these 560s for nothing. what maf do i suppose to use then? to counter this 560s?

I would just use a SAFC or get a chip burned if you have an eprom ECU. If you use the SAFC you would start pulling %10+ fuel out till the car felt normal but without wideband you need to be careful cause you can not see how lean you are actually going.

Im willing to bet it is the pump. 560's and 2gmaf shouldnt be too far off, especially if he has a safc. The wally 255 is over running the stock fpr. Causing it to run even richer.

Pick up an evo maf. The evo maf and 560's should require almost no compensation from your safc, if any. Easy mode.

I do not understand why everyone gets so worked up about a 255 pump and a stock FPR. The only time you will have FPR overrun is at idle not while driving cause you are using more of the pump through the injectors so the FPR will be able to control the pressure accurately. You can easily tune around a rich idle problem with a SAFC.

The Stock 2gFPR can handle a 255 without over-run. IT's the 1-g's that have an issue since they run lower fuel pressure than the 2G.
