I'm just wondering if it would be safe to drive my car with a stock tune with a walbro 190(rewired) and Evo 550cc injectors if I run a moderate boost level? I have to have my car at a car show in one week and I'm not sure if I will be able to have a datalogger by then and have the car tuned right.

WTF do you mean stock tune? You can't just slap in new injectors w/o a chip or safc or ecmlink or something.

Ya you got me confused too. Answer to the question is yes but you will be richer than donald trump and you will be bogging but i would not suggest you do that LOL

sorry, I'd just like to be able to drive my car to HIN next weekend that I have already paid for. So I should just put the stock injectors in and run it? I've got a SAFC but I don't have a logger yet.

How proficient are you with the SAFC? I would highly recommend a logger, to be on the safe side.

I added some links for your convenience.

I did. Evo 8 MAS and Evo 8 560cc injectors & no problems thus far.

But I agree that installing higher-flowing injectors without anything else isn't wise.

The injectors flow 21% more than stock and the evomaf/3g maf flows 30% more than a 2g maf. So your a/f raios are a bit off I'm sure.

Where did you get 21%?

Using simple calculations, 450 + 21% will only give you 544.5cc injectors, which isn't even close to the actual flow capabilities of the Evo 8/9 injectors. Anyone who's been paying attention remembers this post showing the proven tested results.

Now assuming we were to aim for the 580cc mark, a ~28.89 percentage would need to be added to the 450 capacity. The result would be 580.05.

As a second trial, aiming for instead the 590cc mark, a ~31.11 percentage would need to be added to the 450 capacity. The result would be 589.995.

And finally, striving for the 600cc mark, a ~33.34 percentage would need to be added to the 450 capacity. The result would be 600.03.

Say we were to assume the same 30% increase that the Evo MAS sees, you would get a nice safe result of 585, well in the realm of the Evo's proven flow numbers.
