My car has had several issues that I've just been knowledgeable enough to figure out, but they all should have thrown CEL's and they didn't. To be honest its getting annoying that it's not detecting problems. I'm sure there is atleast one issue that I have not figured out on my own that a CEL would tell me about.
Has anyone had an ECU that no longer throws codes?

i have never heard of it happening.

obd2 isn't as great as it might seem. 75% of the time i find myself fixing cars that do not show any symptoms but have codes. its main purpose was to "go green".

The FSM is your best friend when it comes to actually fixing cars, not a code reader.
