Finally started my car after a year of sitting but i've also installed new parts too.

Car fires up instantly but slowly bogs down and dies on me, if i hold the gas down it'll stay on. Every now and then it'll stay on but idle surge like crazy. I noticed the car was throwing a cel so i checked it and got code 13(intake air temp sensor).

I am confused with this code because i have a translator pro which my car is in speed density mode and i have no MAF only an air temp sensor right before my throttle body and is a brand new sensor. My translator pro box displays different measurements and its telling me the ait sensor is at 77.5 F which is about the temperature of my basement so i know this sensor is working.

So if i know my ait sensor is working what should i be looking for to fix this CEL since i have no maf??

did this problem start randomly? or after you installed the translator? sounds like its not getting the air density right for some reason. check your wiring

had it running with the speed density before i broke most of the car down a year ago.

Is the ait(air intake temperature) sensor for speed density the same thing as "code 13" intake air temperature sensor?

Or should i be looking for something else to fix my problem? The ait sensor for speed density is giving me a correct reading of the actual temperature inside the intercooler pipes so i know it is working properly.

im not sure about the speed density part. if it has been sitting for a while, check for chewed wires. did it have the code before it sat?

I recently had my IAT sensor code thrown. after replacing it it was still there. ended up being my gas cap. if its sat for along time maybe the rubber on the cap is bad? just my experience

The gas cap where you pump your fuel into? I swapped over to e85 but didnt think anything with the gas would mess the iat sensor up

yeah. I don't know much about e85. I had a shop look at my car and i looked at it multiple times at checker on their scanner and it gave me a IAT code. night be something to look at but I'm also on the 420a with a different computer than your car.
