Engines out...Got issue's

Hi My name is Jason..I have a 90'awdtsi...

I just finished pulling out the engine..and I could not get the passenger side drive shaft out so I dicided to push the tranny away from the block and just pull the block..

Well it worked but I'm definatly taking the tranny out and there going back in together!

Any way, When the engine was bolted to the ttranny, I rotated the crank by hand, and it seemed to bind at one spot, but not enough to stop it. It apperantly ran before I got it. all he did was loose the timing belt.\

So after a few hours , the engine was out and I found that a nub on the clutch pressure plate was hitting the tranny bellhousing casing.

I also noticed that the old owner had the engine and tranny apart before.
and the sheet metal between the block and the tranny, didnt match the starter so he cut it.

Unnfortunatly I cant show u the pic of the pressure plate , buts its wore on one of the nubs.

any ideas why?? I guess I can grinde the housing to clear the pressure plate..If the new pressure plate hits it.

PS how do you separate the axle from the tranny? I cant get anything in there to pry.

I had the same problem with the pressure plate "nubs" hitting the bellhousing on my Competition clutch when I installed it. I took a die grinder and clearanced the rib in the trans and have had no problems since. The nubs simply stuck out further than the ACT 2600 I had in there before.

To pop the axle out I use a crowbar and just give it a quick pop between the case and the axle cup.
