The engine wont start and turns over extremely easy. There is no compression on any cylinder and whenm I pulled the cam cover off half the roller rockers were just laying loosly in the head valley. The rest were removed by simply pulling them out by hand with no problem.

So I curious here, what could cause this? I am not sure about the cars history at all. The timing belt is new so I thought possibly the last owner jumped time and bent the valves. Would this explain my problem? Or is the oil pump possibly shot and therefor causing the self adjusting lifters not to fill up and maintain proper valve clearance.

Please help.

BTW, an easy way to test for oil pressure with out a mess would be nice too. :thumb:

So this would explain why I can pull the rockers right out without taking the cam's out?? I'll be pulling the head tonight and checking it out, hopefully its just the valves. Im probly just gonna get a different head from a junkyard and in the future rebuild this one.

What should I expect to pay for a 4G63 head?? Any specific year better than the other?

Thanks for the quick help.

Also, what the heck are all the tiny 3/4'' long pins for? They are laying all over in the cam valley. I am assuming they belong somewhere.

I got a few quotes on a head. Annywhere from 450 for a rebuilt head to 275 for one with 86k on it. These sound like fair deals?

Any help is appreciated, Im new to dsm's. OMG

SO, could this be my only problem? And what exactly do these needles do and where do they go. All the rockers are complete, roller and all.

BTW, I possibly can get a free head from a buddy that wrecked his car. :D
