I ment to ask, But I can guess at the answer, Is the DSMgraveyard going to send you a rear main seal? Or are you going to get one yourself?

I am wondering if they named themselves "graveyard" for a reason.

Also 1g84420a, please, once this issue is fixed, let us know how the engine did at the 300 mile mark and what the oil looked like.

Again at the 1000 mile, 3000, and 6000 mile oil changes.

Maybe run a compression test at each of the mile marks also?

I already picked up a seal from my local Napa and will have a video of how it runs later tonight.. They said they sent me one yesterday and today when I talked to them I was not supposed to get one in the engine. If so why would they not question it and send me one?? they make no sense and turn it around and, it's my responsibility today. What ever happened to customer service apparently they have no clue what that is.

Seems like a whole lot of headaches for spending over 2K on an engine rebuild. 2K buys you every tool you would need plus parts. Not to mention renting a stand and crane...

I don't mean to be a dick but wouldn't have been easier to simply make a parts list, buy the parts you need and assemble it yourself? You could always take it to a local machine shop when you actually need a piece machined or serviced. (overbored, decked, blueprinted, cleaned...etc)

I've heard so many horror stories about machine shops, including DSM Graveyard. Your story about the missing rear main seal probrably takes the cake, though. They clearly know nothing about engine rebuilding.

Yeah that. I have all the tools to do the job (engine hoist, engine stand, air tools, etc.) I just wanted a professional job. which obviously should have listened to the community. If it weren't for you guys I'd probably be lost. thanks guys I appreciate all of the tips advice etc. I'll post a video later I am putting the trans back on and the seal is in. Next time I will adhere to the advice given on this board.

id be asking for my money back or something, dsmgraveyard either needs a lawsuit or else put out of bussiness this is pathetic, i have no idea how they can live with them selves after this, and then have the nerve to say the seal wasnt included, how in the #### puts the motor together with out it, wow what a joke, :notgood:

Not supposed to get a rear main seal? Are they serious?
What other gaskets and seals are you not supposed to get? Is there one in the front? I ask because it's the same exact thing but different side of the engine. If there's one there, then there's no excuse for one in the rear.

I think I've figured it out.... The left over sand and junk in the block is suppose to seal the rearmain, not the gasket like a normal motor.

Sorry about the turn out op, I'm really hoping this is the only problem you have, if so I would still consider yourself lucky.

That sucks man been there with them personally, too many problems even before i left my list of problems, one after the other, so many other options after reading the reviews even from a justin, i personally know the owner, enough said, the problems i had were over 5 years ago, i had to post recently to vent.

For those in the Mid-West who would like to take on assembling the engine themselves, but need machine work; this shop did a fantastic job on my engine. Had it bored over, line honed, decked, cleaned, rotating assembly balanced, ect. Then brought the pieces home to assemble.

Performance Engineering Racing Engines Inc. > Home

They also have a torque plate for the 4g63 engine. (I know this is a 420A based thread..) So could be a future option.

Another dsm graveyard horror story LOL, them guys told me themselves on the phone, they don't do anything themselves, they have a machine shop do it all (OUTSOURCED), they just answer the phone, so when you call them they literally just act like they did stuff themselves.

One time I called on some rods, there like O I just did those myself yesterday. I call back a week later cause i never received them, and they said they havn't even got them ready.... was the stupidest thing ever.

O and the legendary PRIORITY SHIPPING!
