at first my engine was knocking/ticking. i did research and thought it'll be my lifters but even when i put revised 3g lifter's in, it still makes the same noise. now i thought it could be some others stuff broken. maybe and broken rod, bent valves or spung bearings. i'm not sure. now i'm going about how or what i need to rebuild the engine.

should i buy and 6bolt block or just rebuilt my 7 bolt block? either motor will be rebuild. i will be i guess building my head too with springs, retainer, valves ect.. which is cheeper do you think. buying a full stock 6 bolt engine or rebuilding?

i'm not that familiar on which part's to upgrade such as rings, pistons, rods ect.... is there a vendor out there that sells a kit so i wouldn't have to find parts from every different place. if anyone can recommend which part i need to fully built the motor up again. i don't even know where to start. thanks alot.

I wouldnt suggest wasting a ton of money on the bottom end. The 4G63's are pretty beefy in that area.

As for the 7bolt vs 6bolt your going to get mixed Opinions. If you can find a cheap 6 bolt block. I just noticed a few while browsing the classifieds then you could pick one up do the build on it. Then whenever your ready pull the 7bolt.

It just depends on how much money and what your future plans are for the car. Do you have another DD? Will you be hiring the work out or DIY? Do you have the ability to drop $1000 at once or are you going to be piecing the build together?

I have viewed alot of member profiles and Ive seen a few that have bottom end goodies capable of 600+ and are barely over the 300whp mark to me this is wasted money.

You will be better off to use the search function and read up for yourself because as previously stated your going to get alot of useless input especially in the newbie forum

Just some food for thought

Post up a video maybe the noise isnt knocking

Oh as for my vote it would be for a 7 bolt rebuild. Now that DSMGraveyard found out you can put EVO 9 pistons (Forged pistions) on 7 Bolt rods. I would buy them and some forged rods block off the oil jets and say goodbye to the threat of crankwalk. Magnus uses forged internal and no oil jets and have had no problems with crankwalk or stuff melting.

Plus your good for alot of HP.

I told you somebody would tell you that you need to throw a bunch of money into the bottom end
