Hey guys I'm buying a non running 91 gsx in a few days for 400 bucks as a project..and I plan on rebuilding the engine..I have never rebuilt a car engine before..just lawnmowers and bikes and quads..but I have my dad and his buddy that's a mechanic if I get into deep shit..I really want to do a 2.3 liter stroker kit on this..is it worth it? I plan on running a big 16g on ~22lbs with all supporting mods..that is if funding is right..if not ill stick with the 14b..so what do you guys think?
. Youll definitely like the results. I think you really need a good solid plan on all the parts you will need. There are MANY parts. You could strip the block down, take it to the machinist for a full rebuild, head and block decked, new pistons, rods,crank(2.3L i assume uses longer stroke) etc.etc. He will give you a list of the parts and miscellaneous stuff youll need. Go with the expensive stuff the first time, do it right, dont regret ya know?
