Ok I'm trying to make this decision early, because I plan to be getting whatever i decide on done this summer...

But I dont want to go turbo, so im looking at high compression, new cams, cam gears, etc...

Well i have bad compression on 1 cylinder already so i need to get that fixed and i was thinking of just gettin high comp pistons as well as new rods installed at the same time i get the comp fixed... But i was just thinking recently of the possibility of an engine swap...

I need to get the pros and cons of each decision... and with a swap, what would be my best choice for an engine?

thanks for the help

There is no swap.

If you wanted to swap anything, you could try the 2.4L block from a "cloud car." This is still a new technology and more than you can likely handle if you're making posts like this. Just stick with a conventional rebuild: forged pistons/rods, bearings, belts, gaskets, rings, etc.. This will serve you well. If you don't have plans to keep the car long term, you might check Howell Automotive for a stock rebuild kit for about $400. with a little machine work, your compression will be back to new and your engine will be alright.

if you don't want to go turbo forged internals do little to no good.(unless you run a big fat shot of nos). high compression puts a lot of strain on your motor for a little more hp in my opinion. why don't you want to go turbo? it's the best way to go fast. if you don't want to go fast then rebuild with a stock kit and enjoy your ride.

well the main reason i dont want to go turbo is the time and money it requires, but since i started thinking of doing this stuff to my engine i have been trying to decide on turbo also

is this kit not up to par as some others? becuase i plan on buying one this summer, before i start building up for a turbo, and have seen some pretty hefty price tags on a few ive looked at, some running up around $800 or so, so i was wondering why is this $400? :dsm:
