engine rebuild compression

i have a 1990 eclipse and i am rebuilding the enging and was wondering what compression i should have for a turbo car

7.8:1 is the stock 1G Turbo Compression, 2Gs have 8.5:1.
Anywhere in that range should be fine (higher = slightly quicker spool, lower = more boost/less risk of detonation).

I'd ask your engine builder (if versed in DSMs) what he'd recommend depending on your performance goals (i.e. Daily Driver, AutoX or Drag Car)
