Okay so the car shut off and wouldn't start untill I charged the battery and cleaned off the connection.
Right after a hard start the car starting squealing then made a grinding/clanking type noise. Well I drove it home while driving, it would make a loud ticking noise constantly, not rhythmic but random sound.
I have to mention that before this happened, I had major lifter tick that would cause knock at times..
Any ideals?
I pray it is topend and not related to rods.
On a side note doing some searching came up with this thread:

dose sound like its in the top. go get a stethoscope (less than $5 at harbor freight) and listen over the top of each cylinder and see if you can narrow down where its coming from. mine did something similar not that long ago. i got some gas in the oil and it thinned out ended up having a nasty lifter tick that sounded just like that. i changed the oil and let it run for a while and it quieted right down.
 
There's a couple of things you could do here the cheaper route, try some Lucas oil stabilizer, if you don't want to do that I'd pull the head off and check the valve springs and retaining pins as well as looking at the bottom of the head to see if the piston is hitting the valves or not and etc....
 
Im gonna say its coming from the bottom end. My 90 GSX made a noise similar to yours. At first I thought it was a bad lifter, but I was wrong :cry:Here is a vid of it.

That's a bearing no doubt. Drop the pan and take off your rod caps to see the damage. My car was making the same exact sound when it spun a bearing. I literally just got finished putting mine back together so the sound is still pretty fresh in my head.
 
Well I got a stethoscope and went to the bottom of the block and it sounds like a tinging sound.
Like a metal tinging along with a loud tick.
I am looking to get a new engine soon I guess, as rebuilding it would cost about the same.
 
Would it be a good deal to get a 7 bolt built bottom end with eagle h beam rods, ross pistons all fresh never installed, fresh crank, arp main studs, bearings, rings, etc for $650.
Could I just take the old block out and put thie built one in?
 
I'd say that's a decent deal for that engine. Yes, you could drop that one in place of yours.

I just wanted to update and say that I just had time to pull the oil pan out.
Yes it is January 2014, yes I have had the car in my garage for a little over 3 years without working on it.
Here is the video of the oil pan removed and checking the rods.
Going from passenger side, number 1 rod has very slight play side to side.
Number 2 rod is loose as a goose and the rest are tight as a virgin.
I really don't know what I should do with this car. Is it worth it to put new bearings in...
