Engine noise

I was driving to school today and i heard a low thud and then my check engine light came on for a second and then went off. It kinda sound like it was coming from the exhaust. Any sugesstions on what that might be.

That's about as vague of a description as you can get...I would start by seeing if you can pull the code and see what number comes up. Could have been a misfire and that's why you heard it in the exhaust.
