Engine Knock/Tic on cold start up

Okay so I have been hearing this noise since I had bought the car a few years ago. It's a Tic/Knock noise definitely coming from the head, it seems as if it has gotten louder in the past few months. But it only is loud at the initial cold start up of the car, once the car is warm the noise isn't their as much and if it is, it's very faint. Looking for ways to diagnose the problem? Thank you. (2g head, 1g bottom) (head rebuild 7000miles, upgraded 264? cams, lifter valves etc..) 97 Gsx.
 
Those are very strong symptoms of classic lifter tick (noise from under valve cover). This is rather common. It is not harmful to your engine. Changing the lash adjusters to revised ones (have larger 3mm port) will likely prevent the tick during warm-up. I would not look to oil additives to remedy lifter tick.
