hi. i have a 97 gst 5 speed. when i start the car when its cold out side their is a wierd grinding noise coming from the engine. it sounds like it might be the turbo tho. once the engine runs for a couble seconds it goes away. idk if its that their is no oil in the turboWTF:confused: on start or what? can you help?

You're being a bit vague. Next time, have a friend start the car and have yourself stand in the engine bay with all ears open. If it sounds like a grinding noise when you put the key from ACC to ON to start the car, and it goes away when you get off the starter, it most likely is the starter teeth chipping away at your flywheel. That's what mine does.

If it grinds when you are first turning it over, it sounds like a flywheel issue to me....had this problem with my last car, a hyundai elantra

If you end up taking your flywheel inspection plate off and your starter/flywheel are bad you may see this.
