hi. i have a 97 gst 5 speed. when i start the car when its cold their is a wierd grinding noise coming from the engine. it sounds like it might be the turbo tho. once the engine runs for a couble seconds it goes away. idk if its that their is no oil in the turno on start or what? can you help?

So the noise happens for a couple seconds after the engine is running also? How long exactly? 1 second? 2?3? Could it possibly be your starter making the noise? Have someone start the car and you listen with the hood up, to try and pinpoint where the noise is originating.

I think it might be the starter. Get one of those car stephascopes (spelled that wrong) and have a friend start the car and just listen on the starter and various parts of the engine.
