I bought an auto 95 talon ESI and swaped the manual trans and harness and ECU out of my 97 Eclipse GS. (the swap so many said could not be done on here) Now the talon is back on the road and throwing a p1495 code (emmissions). I was driving today and after about 20 miles the car sputters like a miss fire. and then a mile later it starts missfireing again to the point it was shakeing the whole car. I clutched in and the engine died. Got out and checked the obvious stuff, battery conection, hoses fuses and everything was intack. So I try to roll it over and she purrs like a kitten. So i give it a minute and deside to drive it again. 5 miles down the road same crap again. So I turn around and It gets worse. It would die and by the time i would coast to about 20 mph it would fire back up again for a minute. Now tonight i can not duplicate it. It seems to only happen after 20 miles plus. Ideas and no other codes are thrown?:ohdamn:

Not to be a smart ass, but before trying 1 million other attempts at figuring it out, I would try a boost leak test. They are notorious with our cars and they sometimes take different forms depending on where the leak is and how bad it is. I've had several and some of them were on and off just like your problem. There's a tech tutorial or whatever on how to build your own boost leak tester on this site. Or just try spraying carb cleaner at suspected leak points while the engine is runnning and see if it revs up.

Not to be a smart ass either, I would loveto have a boost leak. That would mean i would have a turbo. LOL. Seriously. I went around and no vacum leaks. I think the vapors fromthe tank leak back where the plastic peice is. I got to test that yet. Also the shuting down appers to be the crank postion sensor. I will find out today weither swapping over to the 97 style sensors on the back of the engine solved the issue :hmm:
