so i know its really stupid to rev your car when in nuetral... but i did :shhh: . i revved it up to about 6500 and when i release the gas the car died. it only DIES completely when i rev really high. HOWEVER i can save it from dying by giving it some gas. I have a 1990 gsx highly modified. can anyone help me??

i do have racing cams, lifters, valves... everything in the bloack was replace with aftermarket parts. block was bored out to a 2.4. could the cams have anything to do with this..?

I see that a SAFC-2 is listed in your profile, I would assume that you are using that to tune with. This leads me to believe that you aren't using a GM-MAFT setup or DSMLINK.
Is your BOV recirculated back into the intake? Venting the BOV to the atmosphere improperly can cause your car to stall out and idle like crap.

RECIRCULATE YOUR BOV! You know they sell dual port bovs' now right? That means you can vent some air to the atmosphere and some back to the intake so you keep your mass air sensor happy. That's if you absolutely have to have the sound of venting.

No, those don't work. It's enough to get buy, but not run properly. Why are you guys assuming he has venting?

This sounds like a massive boost leak problem.

alright well i am recirculating back into my intake, but i just had a friend rev it up and i was lookin at a place where he said stuuf flew out of the last time i revved. well it looks like the IC pipe that goes into the turbo (right where it connects to the turbo) has a really badly blown gasket. because as soon as he released the pedal i saw air shooting out of it... then the car died. could this be the cause of a boost leak?

oh and there is a very small amnt of oil leakin out of valve cover seal.. i heard that can be caused by boost leaks..?

Do a boost leak test. Fix all leaks. You should be able to hold 5psi *more* than the boost level you're running, and it shouldn't leak down from that more than 1psi every few seconds on a warm motor. If it leaks faster than that, figure out where the leaks are and fix them...all of them. There are numerous threads about boost leak testing and where the most common leaks show up.
