So i was driving home the other night i made it almost home when my car died. I was decellerating in 5th and the car started to backfire and tried it in 4th it did the same thing then the car just turned off and i coasted into the closet parking spot i could find. The car now will not stop the starter is spining and making the high pitch werring sound but no crank at all. i checked the timing belt and its old deffinitly but did not break all my intercooler hoses where connected. when i try to turn on the car i can see the cam gears want to move but dont (they slightly move but look as if there stuck. So any ideas what it could be? im betting its the tbelt slipped timing but i want to make sure you guys would agree before i make a total comitment to tearing it apart. i cant take the wheel off yet because the car is at a middle school and not my house so i cant take a wrench and crank the block. the car is a 1990 eagle talon awd manual that is 100% stock.
