Clutch engages engine dies

Hello Everyone,
I think this is what happen to my 95 tsi, whenever i press on the clutch pedal either the idle drops and sometime car dies. Can anyone help me out pleaze

wow...i wish it were that easy..sometimes its not.

How many miles do you have on the vehicle? do you have any clutch modifications or have you been experiencing shift problems/clutch problems?
it could also be an IAC valve (Idle air control) which is linked into the engine system.
also, are there any check engine lights, or any other indications that something is a miss??
and last...if your car has high mileage and you are running some mods you actually might be experiencing some "crankwalk" as a drop in RPM's or killing when the clutch is depressed is a common occurance...and 95 was the worst year for the "crankwalk" issue.

The engine was rebuilt by a mechanic, and i ask him to put an ACT 2600 clutch onto this car please help me i don't know much about dsm. If it's crankwalked what should i do? The engine has less than 100 miles on it. Is there other symptops beside crankwalk that cause this problem

When you press your clutch in and the car starts to die, do all of the instrument pannel lights come on? I just had this problem with my car, it ended up being a bad batterry and alternator. Changed it all out and everything is fine. If you can get it to drive I would take it to Advanced Auto and get the alternator tested as well as the battery.

This only happens when the clutch is being pressed in. If you don't press in the clutch the car idles very fine i set it at 1k

Yes, when the car starts to die all of the instrument pannel light come on. I will bring it to Checker and ask them to check my altinator and battery
