'97 GST - 7 bolt engine has about 180k miles on it with decent compression (a little low in one cylinder) and after installing a 60mm throttle body on it a few days ago, I ran into a problem out at an SCCA National Tour event in Arkansas.
To make a long story short, engine starts up fine, and idles. However, when the clutch is pushed in at idle, the RPMs drop down and the engine dies. Just by chance, I checked the oil on the dipstick and it had some VERY fine (powder-like) silvery metal flakes at the tip. (Just did an oil change about 1k miles ago).
I'm suspecting impending crank walk and haven't really found any threads to be of much help. Most were started over a year ago and no resolution ever posted. Anyone with similar experiences?
