Engine Coolant!!! HELP FAST!

my engine coolant light came on so i went and bougth some at walmart already mixed with water. when i open my cover to pour the fluid in i notice there are 2 hoses...one that gose to a tube in my engine or somethign then the other one gose nowhere? it just was hanigng and before i drive it is it just for air flow or something?!?!?!

this really bothers me =/ i don't know alot about cars right now mostly Content i read and learned on dsm and other websites...please help me.

That is your resevoir over flow. It drains straight down to the ground.

If you are referring to the two hoses connected to the cap on your coolant overflow reservoir (white plastic translucent container), this is normal. One hose runs between this cap and the engine, allowing the overflow reservoir to catch any coolant overflow from the engine. A second hose simply points down toward the ground to allow any additional coolant that overflows the coolant overflow reservoir to escape.

Yeah, that line is an air vent for the overflow tank. Nothing to be worried about.
 
thanks guys! really appreciate it i thought i pulled out something and i was like....oh shit. its like 2 degrees out so i didn't stay out long enogh to look at it my hands were frozen so i thoguht to ask you smart guys! =) thanks! :thumb:
