Hello all

I am in the middle of an engine rebuild on my 91 gsx. I wanted to go with OEM pistons. So I go to the dealership and provide the VIN number and I soon find out that they need the numbers off the side of the block. I provided all the numbers I could find off of the block. They seemed more confused than me so I took pictures of the block from every angle possible. Well the dealership still has no idea what mark they are looking for much less do I. So I come to the masters at DSMTUNERS for help. Sorry for such a noobie question but I just dont know what to do from here. Is there a stamp somewhere that I am missing? Can I get this stuff online instead? I'm afraid the local Mitsu dealerships aren't too fond of their own 4G63.

This is what I have so far.

Any help at this point would be greatly appreciated.

You're better off buying 2g pistons and using 1g 6 BOLT big rods. You can buy 2g OEM pistons from an assortment of online vendors (check the parts catalog.)

Check the VFAQ to get the specs on how to machine 2g pistons on 1g big rods :thumb:

Give them your vin.
They shoudl be able to find your model of car, and engine that's in it. (stock one) Then tell them you need pistons for it.

I've had my dealer look up alot of junk via a Vin Number.

I have already given them the VIN number of the vehicle and they insist on a stamp or marking that they are still unsure of. Ridiculous.

Thanks for your help. I think it might be time to look for a new dealership.

I bought a used jdm engine instead. Just thought I would update the post. The beast is back on the road. Thanks to everyone for the help.
