End of sparkplug white when I pull them out

On my 1995 Talon TSI AWD a/t i decided to change the plugs/wires so when I pull the plugs out the ends of the plugs are white... the electrode and the litle thing you gap... If it is white that means I am running lean correct? I thought these cars are spossed to run rich... and not to mention the last time I changed them this happened and I was using the stock bov recirculating and now I have a type rs and I am atmosphere release and still running lean.. what could be my problem here.. also having some hp loss , really bad in the low end...

A white ground electrode does indicate a lean condition, however no need to clarify between milky white and light brown (which is OK).

If infact you are running lean you need to examine your fuel delivery system as you are going to damage your engine; especially if you put the EVO III in your profile on. If you haven't yet replaced your fuel filter that would be a good place to start.

Just to clarify your statement about the BOV: Your BOV venting to ATM (which you need to fix by the way) will only create a richer condition when it is opened and would not affect your spark plug color.

Your statement you tacked onto the end about HP and lowend loss needs to be a new post with a detailed description of the issues you are experiencing.

From your previous posts it seems you have a lot of basic maintenance and basic troubleshooting to do. Use the search button a lot and keep us posted.

I am doing a lot of basic stuff, I allready changed about everything that is plug and play except for sensors... which is my next step. Also going to change exhaust/turbo/intake gaskets. My next step for performance as well as basic matenince is a 255 fuel pump, 650cc injectors, aem fuelrail, and a s-afc2
